1.6 Band came up in the early ’90s NYC hardcore scene, formed by Kevin Egan in the wake of the collapse of Beyond (whose other members included Tom Capone and Alan Cage of Quicksand, and Vic DiCara of 108, Burn, and Inside Out). 1.6 Band is one of those bands that makes your jaw drop when you see them live. Their musicianship, precise stop/start timing, and stage presence make you want to scream. Take the songwriting of Dag Nasty and the time changes of No Means No or Victims Family, throw in an angry screamer, and you have 1.6 Band.
